The Comeback

After a four year hiatus from the fashion scene, Pheobe Philo, the woman who practically dictated what women wore in the middle part of this decade, is back to resuscitate the long-stagnant French house, Celine. This week marked her debut with the Resort 2010 collection. Expectedly full of covetable pieces, Philo managed to convince us with a seamless (pun intended) blend of everyday wearability and extremely modern technical precision. The structured jackets and layered dresses, with nods to Balenciaga and Pilati for YSL, are more graphic than anything she ever attempted at Chloe, yet her trademark cool femininity oozes.
