Michael Jackson's late work with the Jackson 5 is often overlooked, but the final period of their run offers a few outstanding gems. The advent of disco brought a sexier sound, and Michael's young vocals ripped across the rhythms.
One of my top 3 favorite MJ moments was when he joined Diana Ross onstage at MSG for the last minute or so of "Upside Down". Diana's intimate, effortless performance devoid of technical wizardry oozes talent, charisma and sex appeal. Michael's contribution, a collision of two major stars, was nothing short of epic.
