I was always rooting for Amerie. Her Georgetown degree in English and Fine Arts combined with her sultry African-American/Korean mix are a killer, unique foundation for her Blige-lite voice and Rich Harrison's fun New Jill Swing production sensibilities. Too bad she has been dealt the shit end, cuz her last album was a marketing disaster and her latest has been delayed over and again. "Why R U" is a capable song (bad lead single) but the remix which just dropped is F.I.R.E. With a harem of the best guest-on-a-girl-song rappers helping out (Nas, Rick Ross, Jadakiss and Caine) and a 1987 Whodini sample (WHICH I JUST POSTED) the R&B remix is officially back. Crazy bass, put this in your Jeeps.
