DREAMWEAVER

Goldfrapp seem to always know what I want to hear.  Somewhere between Van Halen, Laura Brannigan and Depeche Mode lies "Head First", Will and Allison's return to a sexed-up disco dancefloor.  This time, the reference points are early 80's power pop singed with a Moroder-esque darkness.  The nine-track album cuts out at 33 minutes, a conceptual throwback to a time when quality was in favor over the practice of filling massive amounts of disk space.  I really couldn't ask for more, "Head First" is sonic bliss.
