Erté

Erté (1892-1990) was a French artist and fashion designer. Throughout the 1920's, his illustrations emblazoned the covers of Harper's Bazaar, while various liscensing firms manufactured his couture designs for retail in New York and Paris boutiques. His aesthetic is at once exotic and whimsical, evoking ideas of prohibition-era luxe with a certain European fantastical flair.
